Ian is a closet rebel. He's whistling "Dixie." He didn't know "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" until I hummed it for him. He thinks it's "Awful."* He supports the notion of states' rights being the true cause of the Civil War. That situation is so bad that we've already had to outlaw this particular topic of historical debate as it's much too controversial in this house, and causes too many arguments. (Only because Ian is wrong. There wouldn't have been any controversy over states' rights if the right in question were not the "right" TO HOLD SLAVES!)
