I knew, I just knew there were more reasons for Wednesday being my favorite day other than "It's hump day!"
Here are a few:
- I'm back in the office after a much shorter than expected trip to PA.
- I get to work on a redaction assignment. Hurray! Those are my absolute favorite! 8D
- Because I got this email message at work:
Good Afternoon: We welcome all of you to the Dining Facility - hope to see you there!! The Facility will be open from 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. For Grand Opening Week we will offer specials each day which will include samplings of apple spice cake, pumpkin raisin bread, Thanksgiving dinner in a wrap, Starbucks gift basket raffle and more. Enjoy your favorite Starbucks coffee every morning, brewed fresh. Enjoy breakfast sandwiches, croissants, bagels, etc. along with many other goodies.
- I miraculously arrived here at 8:00 am and had a whole half hour to piddle about. So nice...
- Listening to Belle and Sebastian *le sigh*
- Opportunities to sell my origami Christmas wares are springing up (more details below).
- I got a few minutes of extra sleep this morning (revisit the word 'miraculously' in one of the above bullets).
- A new episode of Lost comes on tonight.
- Coffee...mmmm...
- On the fanfic 'obsession,' I expect Deandra's posted another chapter of her most recent story. :)
- Reminiscing on the two enjoyable phone conversations with
smor and
carondelet11 on the drive back to MD yesterday. Both were quite amusing in different ways, smor's for my dorky moment and carondelet11's for the constant signal interference. ;)
- Um, there's so much more, but I do have to get to work in the next minute or so, so let me at least detail the origami stuff. :)
So, last night I pulled out all the various papers that had been matched up in order to decide what exactly I'd be making with each set. I prepped a few for various ornaments and ended up taking them over to FOG group (the group of older ladies my grandmom used to get together with once a month and for which my mom, aunts, and I have become replacements). I hadn't expected to go because of the PA trip, but since it ended up I would be going, I knew they'd like to see them. Well, besides getting requests for some of various colors and compliments on the shadow boxes I'd done that they'd all seen at my mom's, aunt's, and the lady's house where we were meeting, I found out that my mom is setting up some things at a craft show Friday night (I was so hoping to get her and my dad out to Goblet of Fire...). So, by Thursday night I expect to have samples of each of the items I make and a flyer and/or business card so that I can take orders. She'll take all that with her to the show, and hopefully, this will be the official beginning to something amazing (or fun at the least). Now, I just have to get everything together and figure out prices! Ahhhh!!!!!!!
I'm not going to bother to proof read this as I usually do, but know that I've at least let the spell check run. ;P
Additional note: The realists, pessimists, and possible cynics in the group might be tempted to comment, saying, "What are you talking about? All those things aren't confined to Wednesdays nor did some of them even occur, in actuality, on this very Wednesday. You're a loon." To that I would reply, "To this I am well aware; however, my optimistic nature has led my mind to focus on them all this lovely mid-week morning, and there's little you could do to spoil my cheerful mood. I do hope I rub off a bit." ;]
