Not My Dress (now this should be interesting)

Jul 25, 2009 08:08

It's been like a week since I posted, right? I've been down the beach with Matt and my parents, at least for Monday and Tuesday. Work has been crazy busy the past three days, too. There's not been a decent moment during which I could 'research' and post a Not My Dress entry.

So, I bring this one to you from the foot of my 'bed' at Matt's, which is the pull-out sleep sofa. Seriously, the computer desk is right up against the foot of the mattress. It's an awesome arrangement. ;D

The real reason this is going to be interesting is that for some reason, his computer will not install the latest Flash Player, and so, I can't actually see the larger picture of this dress on its own little info page, just the one in the general dress gallery. So, let me comment after squinting a few minutes here...

Not My Dress - Week 11
Swiss-Dot Illusion Halter Dress with Trumpet Skirt and Watteau Train

Reasons this is Not My Dress
- First, please don't take this personally if you like tops shaped like this, but for some reason, I associate halters of that style with snotty girls. It's like when you recall that girl Emily from back in middle school who was just a nasty piece of work and then decide you'll never really like the name Emily...ever. (By the way, I do feel that way about the name Emily.) Apparently, somewhere buried deep in my memories is one that connects this style with a snotty female.
- Again, we've got the large patches of lace work or whatever going on on an otherwise empty pallet known as the trumpet skirt.
- Here's an actual practical reason for you: I don't want to wear my hair completely up, yet, with the halter, the preferred way would be an up-do. At least, in my opinion, an up-do is the better way to go with such a style. Disagree with me if you like, but that's my opinion.

Now I'm going to go make my Nutrisystem blueberry pancakes for breakfast. :}
