CARBON LEAF!!!!!!
OOOOOOOOOH WOW
ok. that just rocked. big time. i havent had that much fun at a concert since i went to see gaelic storm for my bday at the Palms in Davis. While i was at mathjedi's house, we made cookie dough, and i showed him some different things to do when baking, and his recipe is sooo good for cookies. then we went to jack in the box and had food, and came back, and it didnt take long at all before i passed right the hell out on the couch. i woke up once, rolled over, and passed out again. so i feel bad bout leaving him to bake the cookies. but i was tired, damnit. lol. while we had beenm making the cookies, we were listening to Mari-Mac, by Great Big Sea... thats like... MY kinda song! its a fast, happy irish! and then he played the carbon leaf cover, and that was AWESOME. i listened to one version of it about 6 times, lol. i was kinda sad when dennis said they dont normally play it! :( so after sleeping some on the couch, we sat around listening to music, and looking at maps n stuff, just being goofballs, and he showed me the signed CL poster he has, and he gave me an extra poster he had, so i rolled it up, and then he was like "we should be going..." and i was like "yippeee!" i was so excited!! lol. so we get there, and run into one fo the people he knows, and give him the cookies, and he was a nice guy, and i was just like "oooh... dennis knows someone who works with carbon leaf. NEAT!"... i was all giddy. lol. so we stand in the will call line, get our tickets, and go stand in the normal line. i got to meet one of his friends from the carbon leaf group, it was awesome. she was so cool (but i dont remember her name cos im horrible at that). then i realized i forgot the poster in his car!!! :(
so dennis took off and ran back to the car and got it for me, YAY! the wait wasnt long, but the chill san fransisco wind was KILLING my nipplerings. they were getting so fucking cold, i thought my nipples were gonna fall off at the piercing. -OWWIE-. we got in, and he introduced me to Terry, and to one other person, and we just wandered, and then the opening act started. i had NEVER heard of Michael Tolcher before in my LIFE, he was so good! he really played well to the audience, and he did alot of random partial covers that were jsut awesome, and he and the guitarists were dancing around on stage it was so funny. i went to go buy a cd right after he was done, and they didnt accept cards!!!!! dennis bailed me out tho, and he paid for mine (i owe you dinner for that!!!)... it came with a freee single, and i now realize that we FORGOT our singles. NOOOO. that makes me SAD. but i got pictures with him, and with the other band members, i was so giddy, grinning from ear to ear. lol.
and then FINALLY it was time for carbon leaf to come on! they rocked my socks from the first note. after the frist SONG i was like "dennis... im hooked." im a carbon leaf fan for sure now. i mean, i LIKED them from the few songs he sent me, which is why i was excited to see them, but DAMN. they do a good show. they plaed life less ordinary, which id heard before, and liked, and then most of the songs were new to me. but it was allll great. i didnt know who to watch! everybody was so into and enjoying what they were doing, it was great. and then they left, and i looked at my watch and was like "noo.. not yet!" but dennis assured me they would come back. they did one song, i dunno the name of, but i liked it alot. and then... THEY DID MARI-MAC!!! i was so estatic!!! it sounded GREAT. i got pictures with all fo them, and one awesome pic of one of the guys, me, and dennis. lucky me, i was between 2 guys! score :)
i was sooooo upset that my cd player in my car doesnt play mp3s :) im in such a killer mood tonight!
