I love MSU, I love tear gas, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I love everything about my school. Everyday this past week that was above 45 degrees people across campus were having cookouts, wearing sandals, and shorts, playing football, beer pong and flip cup in their front lawns mid-day saying things like "Man, Im failing all my classes right now".

As anticipated, this weekend was insane. Friday we got "last year wasted" pregaming at Park Ln, after we went to a party at this big, old frat house (IMPORTANT: frathouse no longer!), walked home, found a pile of flamingo lawn ornaments, stole them, played with puppies, went crazy etc. etc.

Saturday, game day. I worked all morning, rushed home at 4 to BBQ and drink at Deema's. Drunkity drunk-drunk by approximately 6:30. Watched the Illinois game, rushed to Cedar Village to watch our game. The night can pretty much be summed up by saying "It's only [insert early time here]!" Screamed my head off (to the point that Im shocked I didnt lose my voice) due to the fact that in the second half our team fell apart and my boyfriend Maurice Ager was the only one who remembered how/tried to play basketball and we couldn't make any shots if our lives depended on it. Im glad that Anderson, Hill, and Torbert were satisfied to end their college careers with that crappy excuse for a basketball game. ANYWAYS.... it was a disappointing loss but Im pretty happy that we made it to the final four at all.
*****THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD**** When there were about 2 minutes left of the game I resigned to the fact that we were sucking ass.... and decided to have a crazy techno "I dont give a shit" dance party. We were throwing fireworks off of Peter's balcony, when we noticed the crowds beginning to gather in Cedar Village. Heidi and I ran as fast as we could downstairs and outside to our other friends apartment. Cedar Village was jam packed with probably about 3000 people crowding the streets. Despite the fact that we LOST the game everyone was jumping around and on each others shoulders yelling "Go Green! Go White", "Fuck UNC". and chanting "MSU!!". In the meantime, we were all being surrounded by helicopters with searchlights. It was one of the craziest things I have ever experienced and it got me all fired up. We ran around the corner to see what the other C.V. streets looked like, and it was even more insane. No one was being destructive, everyone was just jumping around, so I didn't think police action would be taken for at least another half hour. We were walking back to the apartment when we started hearing explosions that I initially thought were fireworks. Everyone started running and an exhaust-like smell hit me, TEAR GAS. I took off running (flip flops and all) and grabbed Heidi. It was all hazy from the gas, everyone around us was running, gagging, coughing, spitting and puking. Since they teargassed, AROUND the crowds we had to run into the thick of the tear gas in order to get out of it. Also, we had to run into a group of cops in order to get away from the chaos. It was like a warzone. There was a point where I literally thought I was going to just pass out on the ground and die. My eyes have never burned so badly. The tear gas didnt subside until we were all the way to Collingwood. There were people and riot cops everywhere. Once my eyes stopped burning, and I stopped choking it hit me that I had experienced TEAR GAS, and I got this crazy adrenaline rush. The rest of the night wasnt too out the ordinary, crazy MSU party style, Bells Pizza. I definitely wont ever forget it.

I love my school. Even though I have an exam at 9am that I failed to study for this weekend until about 10 tonight. Did I mention that I love my school???

PS. At least the ladies' team accomplished what the guys could not. Yeah Spartans!
