I'll be in Albuquerque from 1-15 December, for an intensive 10-day training in Nonviolent Communication. Unfortunately that means I won't be socializing that much but I will have Sunday the 2nd and Friday and Saturday the 14th and 15th available to do a bit of socializing.
In other news, I wrecked on my bike today. It was exciting! I was all reminding myself to be careful since the conditions were perfect for black ice, and I touched my brakes (a little too hard it seems), and fishtail, thud, bomp, my knees were up in the air. As a sliding fall it wasn't bad but I have some road rash and a stiff knee now. This follows curiously closely on
tortoiseandcrow's bike accident, after he got a dropped chain mere days after I did the same thing. Seems like we have shared bike misfortune karma. I hope nothing serious happens to him.
Finally, also basically unrelated, I got an Asus Eee PC. Extremely tiny subnotebook that comes with Xandros Linux installed and a 4 GB solid-state "hard drive." It's very cool; I don't really like laptops--still too heavy, in my experience, to carry around as just another thing in the backpack--and this really fits the bill. Plus it's cute. I expect it will be quite handy on my trip out there and otherwise.
More detailed update stuff to come soon. See you Albuquerqueans in a little over a week! I'm stoked.
