Parents: What's the most unforgivable thing you ever did to your child? Or something that you did that you really regret?

Non-parents: Same question but what did you do to your parents?

Told the father I'm having a baby, and thus stayed with the father person. I should have kept my mouth shut and left like I had planned to, the couple of weeks before I found out I was pregnant.

I did too, which is why I think this should be so much easier for me than it is. It's not, though. I guess I'm hoping it's different this generation, but the small bit of common sense I have says, it won't be.

My child is still really young so I haven't had the chance to mess her up yet.

But my mom stayed with a man that abused two out of three of my sisters and myself. Everything is okay now, but I still resent them both a lot when I get into a bad mood and my mother COMPLETELY denies it and acts like nothing bad has ever happened in our lives.

Made a pretty genuine attempt to kill myself. First time I ever saw my father cry.

This. He had no idea there was anything wrong until he found himself having to race to my house, pick me up and drive me to the hospital hoping I didn't die on the way. I've never seen that side of him. It still breaks my heart to remember him saying, "Please don't ever do that to me again."

Though being the self-centered prat I am, I mostly regret that I failed and had to deal with any of it myself.

told my dad I hated him.
told my mom that she sucked at her job.
