Ehhh... I usually have stronger opinions than I show in anon
In real life, I think I would want less people to know I have Crohn's disease. I used to tell everyone as a way to deal, but now everyone knows and I feel awkward about it sometimes
But a lot of the crap from back then has already been sifted through, so you don't hear as much of it.
There's this jazz club in DC that does some brilliant live jazz, and it's mostly tributes to the old-timers, but in new ways. I love it. If you're ever around, I'll have to take you.
No, I haven't. I want to try, though. I was trained as an opera singer in college. Hated singing it because it was so bad on your vocal cords. But it was always fascinating to hear the music and the raw emotion that it evokes.
I'm jealous and will be living vicariously through your theatrical endeavors.
I started off as a Music minor, but dropped that because I was afraid of performing. I ended up with just the Physics major and a billion and a half unfinished minors (including Music, Writing, Engineering, and Anthropology).
When I quit the music lessons, I was working on this song. I liked it, but it was really, really rough.
Yeah, DC has a lot, but it's prohibitively expensive and I don't have any friends who are really interested in it. They're all interested in more... physical pursuits. It's annoying because sometimes I just want to go see a performance and get me some culture! And I want an activity where I don't sweat profusely.
Well yeah it's expensive here too. My friends usually like way different movies and music and all, and I used to want to adapt to them, but now I'm just, fuck it, if I want to see it, I will see something, with or without people. and it turns out, there are usually people willing to come with me in the end, so yay!

I am a little nervous, I've only seen Carmen on tv, and I have no idea if this is a good opera or not, but I like the story of Salome.
I imagine DC has some stuff like that, no?
