True if Destroyed

Ed Walters records has been around for years supporting local bands, and fuck it, doing a small label is a thankless job. Mike Dailey is in debt to all hell and can't do the label anymore, so we're having one final bash and then you'll see no more of Ed Walters records, the great clearing off, or the sound of failure. Hopefully this show will help Mike pay off at least a little of his debt and be a fitting farewell to some bands and a label that have been active in the Philly DIY scene for several years.

For me, the last great clearing off show is going to be really intense because this band has been a huge part of my life for so goddamned long. I hope we made some music that someone will remember and I hope we were able to mean something to at least a couple of people. I know this band has kept me going at times and has always provided a much needed outlet for emotion and creativity. It has cemented friendships with a group of people who I feel like I know on a completely different level than most people (I especially know their smells, and they mine, better than most) and who I am going to miss rocking with so goddamn much that I'm just not going to think about that right now. But hey, all good things must pass, eh? The Great Clearing Off just somehow fit for the time it was happening in. The rock will continue with all of our other bands and the rest of the sweet mofos in the philly scene who keep plugging into shitty amps with shitty guitars and kicking the shit out of shitty drums year after year.

xo,
.tim.
