A cornucopia of icons
I was in an awful mood, so I was going to make a big, rambling post about how no one has control of their lives because you don't even get to decide if you live or not, really, the decision to be born isn't your's and technically death is left up to pure chance and something about how my love for my family is matched only by my hatred for them and some such nonsensical attempts at being good-writer-y-sounding.
But the internet was down, so I went for a drive, bought a book, came back, and decided to make an icon post instead.
Most, if not, of these are of British sitcoms or "Brit-coms," most notably and most likely Black Books and Spaced [not so much Peep Show because images are scarce and there's nothing too visually funny about the show, it's all writing, not so much from The Office or Ricky/Steve/Karl because there are loads of those already]. A good deal are just quotes, because...I love quotes.
Because I'm bored and like to be annoying, they all come with a commentary.
Since they're already made [yes, I'm making some icons and writing this entry at the same time], let's start with last night's quote icons:
Spaced--
Said at random by Tyres, the greatest creation in TV history.
[Duane's phone is ringing during a paintball match] "You gonna get that?" "I've got an answering service." "You've got an answer for everything." "I can't believe you just said that." "Yeah, me neither."
You can't read the text on this one because it's shit [it's supposed to be funny and a bit of a visual reference to when Brian dressed himself as a painting], but it says "Abstract expressionism is so mid-to-late eighties." Said by Vulva, Brian's ex...whatever. The background image is actually a piece by Jackson Pollock that I edited a bit.
Black Books--
Only one, but I think it's a gem.
Of coure it is, where do you think we get pineapples from? Again, I edited the outerspace background a bit. The natural beauty and splendor of space is not good enough for my icon.
Peep Show--
Maybe some of these quotes will better explain to those of you who've never seen the show why I think it's one of the funniest things in the world.
Entire line: They should be more honest. At least, Tony Adams from the IRA, he's like, "Yeah, I shoot people. I like shooting people."
Entire line: It's payback time. And she's going to pay back... in fear dollars!
I can't remember how I found that hanging Lego man, but that's brilliant, whoever did that.

Spaced--
My icon...perhaps my new favourite icon. Yes, folks, I've gone this long without ever really having a "ship," if you will but...well, I've fallen in love with Tim and Daisy, as I see them sort of as incarnations of myself. So. Here's one of the two Tim/Daisy icons.
Here's the second, from the last moment of the last episode...possible the most adorable, romantic moment I've ever seen. Yes, it beats Bingley grabbing at Jane Bennet's ribbon AND Darcy stretching his hand after helping Elizabeth on to the carriage AND Georgiana Darcy playing the song Elizabeth played at Rosings [which I always felt was supposed to be a sort of romantic tie-in, even if it wasn't]. Most adorable moment possible--and it's odd that it beat all those out, as Tim and Daisy aren't ever even a real couple.
What Brian listens to in his spare time.
Jazmine wanted one just of Simon, I liked this picture and couldn't find one of him doing his birthday dance for Daisy [which means I have to cap it myself, which I HATE doing], so. Here it is.
The text is shit on this, I'll probably do it again later. Anyway, "All's fair in love and robot wars" is perhaps my favourite line for the whole series. Here's The Fuckest Uppest [Private Iron] V.S. War Bastard. Of course, War Bastard doesn't stand a chance.
"Hey, I know you! You're a massive wanker!" I love this episode, except for Sophie, who I hate for obvious reasons.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think in this image Dylan's just finished discussing that he would rather perform fellatio on a smurf than die. And I'm not wrong, because I screencapped this.
Not only is this icon really poorly made, but it's also only funny to me! But to me, it's fucking hysterical. See...when I image searched Bill Bailey, a bunch of pictures of cats came up...most which looked about as bewildered as Bill usually does. But...yeah.
This, obviously, is Bill Bailey. He does look quite like that cat....
I adore Fran. What a funny, funny woman Tamsin is.
Her wine glass. This isn't really recognizable as a Black Books icon...but I still love it.
A few moments ago I put up all the rest of the icons, and then livejournal had a seizure and got rid of everything that came after the icon above. So the stuff you're about to see and hearread I had to type in twice. Pity me, for you are my pity slaves.

Absolutely adorable. Ask me again why I'm so in love with Dyland Moran.

I haven't the slightest idea what's going on here, but I love it anyway.

Really shitty icon. Really dumb joke. But someone had to make both. This, of course, is Big Keith from The Office's iPod ad.
I found this really terrifying picture of Ricky looking...sort of like a sexy, smouldering [NO SMOULDERING! hahahaha yes I'm a loser who's been watching too much Black Books] teen idol and it scared me so much that I made this icon.
Perhaps the most hilarious TV moment ever.
Steve and Ricky on the set of Extras. Steve looks like he should be in a Wallace and Gromit cartoon here. His smile literally looks like it was sculpted by Aardman.
Um...I suppose I thought random discolouration was all the rage? God, I'm an idiot.
Everything about this is poor quality. It says comedy genius on the side, and that's poorly quality-looking-ish because it's screen capped. Steve was on this Saturday morning chat show and the little caption bit that would normally say, for example, "Stephen Merchant - Writer/Director" said "Stephen Merchant - Comedy Genius." It was the funniest bit in the whole show. I mean, I'm not saying it's not true, it's just ridiculous to say.
More crap quality. But I love this picture and I love this quote. And, for some reason, Karl is AMAZING to make icons of. I only made/saved/uploaded this one, but I'll be fiddling with his little round head a lot more, you can be sure.
All right, maybe it's crap, but I really, really like this one. The amazingly hilarious and hilariously amazing Rob Brydon.
Surprisingly, my first ever Douglas Adams icon.
