If human beings weren't able to consciously control their diaphragms, Nintendo would've gone out of business ages ago.
If we all are actually living inside of a giant computer, it wouldn't actually have to be that powerful. Our concepts of time passing could easily be related to clock cyles, and if we're inside of the computer, we'd all see it passing at the same rate. So, it could be a 486 taking decades to 'render' one second of our time, and we'd never know.
Maybe The Matrix is some overweight kid at his Tandy?
If it were a killable offense to be stupid, what percentage of the entire world's population would be left? Which countries would be hit the hardest?
If we were all blind, would we hate people based upon the way they smelled? Their voices?
