Trivial Dispute (961:39)

May 23, 2010 21:40

Sam and I had a weekend away this weekend. We were playing Trivial Pursuit RPM over a Makers in a bed and breakfast in the Blue Mountains after dinner last night, and she was behind by miles when she got the question "How many reels of tape does a 24 track record on at once?"

"None," was her carefully considered answer. I was able to query this answer, once I stopped laughing, and she huffed "WELL THESE DAYS THE ANSWER IS ZERO BECAUSE THERE ARE NO REELS OF TAPE. NOTHING I CAN DO IF THE ANSWERS ARE FROM TWENTY YEARS AGO."

RPM was made in 1986, so the answer was given as "one"; for some reason, the cards haven't updated automatically in the 24 years in between.

She ended up winning of course, because the answer to the 50s questions is either Jerry Lee Lewis or Little Richard and she guessed right, and also because there's NO FUCKING JUSTICE IN THE WORLD.

I promised her I'd make this entry; maybe she'll make one about this morning's flatbag.
