Well things are happenning and I'm trying to keep up. I'm trying to enjoy my last year but at the same time i have to get my crap done in school and get ready to go to college and start the whole proccess over again. The more i think about it the harder it seems....then i think about it some more and its pretty simple. I will be aight. for the past about month I've been devoting myself to the craft. I've been practicing trumpet so much I have to get my range up to a E above the c above the staff. Right now i can get up to a d so I'm almost there.
the past month I've had to deal with some drma but I've gotten through it and I have to move on. I dont have time for any of it because I've only got one shot to be a senior in highschool and I cant be hung up on things you cant change. I think I now have a date for homecomming and maybe even someting more. I've somehow found a way to get myself back on track again, I'm started to get the hang of life i think.
The game last night was awesome I like having 3 drum majors because its more like a section then just 2 guys, it feels better. I feel like I'm the only one that thinks this marching season has been the best so far for north. Everyone is alwas saying we suck and theres no more tradition and theres no respect. These may be true but I've been haveing the time of my life. I do marching band because its fun, yeah i may be the drum major and I have to be "serios" But you can bet that I'm having fun every practice and i dont have to sacrifice intencity, skill, and exicution to have it.
We are learning the 3rd number monday.
get the numbers straight guys we have 5 more games, we have 4 more comps and we've got the 1st and 2nd numbers down fairly well and... whats this we are going to start learning the last number before our first comp? we are starting the 3rd number 6 weeks before fmbc and 5 before fba. that gives us at least 12 practices to clean our show up and dont forget fun with mr q before comps and the ocational emergency rehersals. last year we went to our first comp which was at mariner on sep. 27 and only did the first number and the only part that was good was the one we're still useing this year. this year we would have gone to a comp this weekend(oct.2 which is only a few days diff from our first comp last year) with a strong first and 2nd number, yes guys they are strong and are only going to get stronger.
Heres some more facts to compare. The first time we played our whole show was at chiefland, oct. 18th and I remeber gettign grand champs with the roughest show I'd ever played. Our first comp is the 23rd we are starting the 3rd number 3 weeks before our first comp. Now i dont know about you but that seems like just enough time to learn that 3rd number and have the baddest ass show on the planet.
some may think that I'm too optimistic But i like to think if anyone can do it its us red knights. This season will continue to rock as far as i'm concerned and so will my last year.
you think you know but you have no idea, this is the diary of ME.
