thanks to
la, i was just able to waste a few moments on
this personality site. the most interesting result is that i have morphed from an INTJ to an INFJ! i had previously been an INTJ every time i'd taken a myers-briggs quiz, but there is no denying it-- (F) is a much better description of how i am today than (T). not saying that is a good or bad thing-- it just suits me right now.
so according to the site, these are career options that would go with my personality:
- Special education teacher
- Alcohol and drug addition counselor
- Universal design architect
- Holistic health practitioner
- Diversity manager/trainer
- Speech/language pathologist
- Career counselor
- Environmental attorney
- Director of religious education
- Therapist
- Editor / art director (web sites)
- Writer
- Mediator / conflict resolver
- Planned giving officer
- Religious educator
very interesting. a few years ago, i'd have turned my nose up at the majority of these careers. but now i agree that i could see myself in some of them and even seen myself devoting my work to a few... it *is* of the utmost importance for me to feel like i'm helping people and working in support of some ideal in which i strongly believe. that's what most of these jobs are. i would add family attorney where it says environmental attorney. and any kind of work with pro-gay groups would fit too, i think. not that i'm considering a career in either of those areas, but in theory i could envision one.
needless to say, i am feeling aimless once again. the urge to go back to school is always strong in times like these, but don't worry... i will fight it. :)
