the 47%

What you are thinking,
what your mindset is,
can determine your perception of a situation.

Who are these 47% they are talking about ?

They think they are victims ?

I have heard of people who "work the system".
I have heard of unmarried women who get pregnant, leave their employer and file for benefits.
I don't think 47% of the population is an unemployed single mother.

I do think that maybe 30% or more people who had a job, lost their job due to a situation beyond their control.
Then could not find a new job right away due to a situation beyond their control.
1
The price of fuel, shipping costs to bring in materials and to ship finished merchandise, went way up.
Everything has a price point, a price something will not sell at.  Contracts for a set price, delivered, can not be changed.
All costs can not be past on to the next down the line / buyer.
To reduce costs employers had to layoff workers due to high shipping costs.
2
They are going to enforce new health insurance rules.
The price of health care and insurance to pay for it keep increasing.
Employers layoff workers due to each will cost more.
Who shall be let go? He is older. She may want a baby someday. He might get HIV or AIDS. He has a large family. They are overweight. Some smoke. Some drink. They play sports, sports injury repair is a whole industry.  They jog along the road ( in dark clothes) due to get hit by a texting driver someday.
Everyone is a high risk health wise somehow.....

Business is not good due to both of the above.
Business's close due to higher costs and lower sales / income.
Yes they are victims of situations beyond their control.

If their business closed most other same like business's are not doing well, not hiring.
It is not always easy to transfer skills from one field to another.
Not everyone is a salesmen, yet everyone has to sell themselves to gain a job.
The longer someone is out of work the less likely they are going to be hired.
Employment applications are screened by computer programs, looking for keywords unknown to applicants.
Ridiculous psychology employment tests bought from some salesmen. ( the owners wouldn't hire themselves if they took those tests)
Yes they are victims of situations beyond their control.

Suddenly unemployed
Can not pay for the mortgage, the bank takes your house.
Can not sell your house to move someplace else, there is a glut of homes for sale.
Can not pay the vehicle loan, lose the vehicle.
Can not travel to find work or get to work.
To take on a loan for more education while unemployed is a great risk with no guarantee.
Yes they are victims of situations beyond their control.

I was never hired by a poor person.
Don't piss off the wealthy, they are the only ones hiring.

Turn on the radio. Play a record. Play some music.
