NEW YEARS HAPPIES!!

Yes it is that time, once again...

2004 in review:

Graduated. Halle-freakin-lujah. Went down to just working one job instead of two PLUS school.

More time with the kids generated much needed happiness.

My best friend came back into my life, this time for good.

Handed over the last of the rent checks to the 'rents, watching them pay off their first mortgage with pride that I could help.

MOVED! WOOT! (and yes, Kenny, that deserves a WOOT!) Regardless that they were rarely ever there, the last thing I wanted to do was rent a place to share it even on the odd occasion. Brought my best friend with us, as we got our family back together again the way it used to be.

Made peace with those who deserved it, finding it quite nice that no fences really needed mended. Watched as Scott's mom gushed over Maggie, pointing out every little detail that so obviously came from their side of the family. Was more than happy to agree to her promise that regardless of the future they'd never have to go without Maggie in their lives again.

Sanity finally prevailed, and years after saying no to him, I actually agreed and was more than happy to do so. Good-bye Severe Commitment Phobia, Hello Marraige. That would be the title of this year of my life.

Was given the wedding I'd told him I wanted all those years ago, providing I ever actually got married again. Gazeebo. In the Smokies. Surrounded by nature. Pachelbel Canon playing in the background. Time to ourselves. Perfection.

Watched my self-proclaimed Grinch of a new husband get excited over Christmas. Watched him and Zac grow closer than they were before. Watched Daddy and his Princess wrap each other around their respective little fingers.

Was reminded that some people just don't grasp, no matter how many times you tell them, that you do not and never have given a damn what others opinions about you are. Laughed over complete foolishness.

...actually, I laughed a lot this year. It's been absolutely fanTABulous!

Rang in the new year with a dance and a kiss at midnight, and ended with watching the sun rise. I never believed that life could change so swiftly and sweetly.

For the new year I would like: well, possibly a bigger place. George Carlin said it best, in his ramblings about stuff. I would like to continue to help others. Lets see... world peace? Ok, unattainable. To not cry on Maggie's first day of kindergarten? Ok, just as unlikely. For some people to get a clue? Probably even more unattainable than world peace, but who gives a shit?

I'm of the giddy to see what the next year has in store, and I hope that all of my family and friends are as well:)
