A typical day's beginning...

*Beep Beep*, *Beep Beep*, *Beep Beep*....

"Emmm...", the sleepy student moaned lightly, rolling over. His hand began feeling its way over his alarm clock searching for that one magical button that bestowed another ten minutes of sleep. Upon finding it the intrusive sound ceased and sleep clouded his consciousness once more...

"Dude..."
"What?"
"Nuke him..."
"I'm fucking out of mana DUDE!"
"Gah, why don't med for a bit before running into shit like this?"
"Fuck you, I know what i'm doing..."

Lights from two computer monitors danced around the dimmly lit dormitory room. Brilliant worlds of color swirled on their glassy surfaced displaying a world of unfathomable fantasy and fulfilling their players addictions of wonderlust.
On one particular montior, a vampiric avatar danced around a landscape of a beautiful forest, rich with life. It went about, here and there, assaulting similar avatars, occasionally retreating to a "base" where a heavenly fountain restored that which was lost. On and on the two monitors slaved to please their bloodthirty master's requests. Flickering with the fantasy world's vitality, the room was small. Filling the currently neglected "outer space" of the dorm was a refrigerator in one closet on a chair, a tv on another piece of clothing storage furniture, two beds, and a shelf on which a "Betta" fish named Sebastian resides. After a few minutes of play one group of animated avatars began to win over the other. Pushing hard into the heart of the opposition the "evil" aligned avatars set-up for their last push when unknowingly a "good" hero rushed a damaged side of the "evil" base and...

*Beep Beep*, *Beep Beep*, *Beep Beep*....

"Matt..."
"Matt!"
Muttering, a disgruntled roommate shook the sleeping student.
"You're going to be late again if you don't get up. It's half past nine."
"Yeah, I know what time it is.", came a groggy reply still reeling from the unexpected loss in a fantasy land of pixels.
"Then get up and go. I'll see you at lunch."
Zipping up his jacket he turned and left out the door, leaving it partly open. He knew Matt couldn't stand the door to be open, not even slightly. With a quiet sigh Matt sat up and stared into dim space. He was going to be late to class if he went at all. He didn't care. He didn't care about much these days. Everything seemed empty.

After dressing himself and grabbing a few books he headed out the door to begin a day, seemingly to him, without direction. He didn't care though, because he would soon return to his fantasy world and be lost once more...
