Visual inspection of the troops
I'm in that weird state where I'm dead exhausted & unable to focus, but just too wired to go to sleep. If I wasn't quite so tired, I'd do the searching for the kanji of the names of the guys (some are obvious without recognizing the names, others I know from watching the episode). In the meantime, I'll at least post up screencaps of the characters introduced thus far.
Must have a pretty on the front, before the cut...
APR 10: Finally, now edited with the names of the characters with the exception of one. Actors will have to come later, if ever. ^_^
I'll add names (characters & actors if I have them) later, like after some sleep? ^_^ Many of these I do know (or am pretty sure of), but I'm going to be lucky to get all the code right just to show the pics let alone be sure I've got the right names, faces & kanji together. Anyone who needs/wants the practice or memory check...
First, let's take a look at the good guys (yeah, right)...

HIJIKATA Toshizo...I think Hijikata's name came up at the very beginning of the episode, when he was having the famous portrait made before Hakodate

And, finally, the odds & ends... some I most definitely know, like Matsudaira, and a couple I'm not sure of yet because I couldn't get a feel for who they were & don't recognize the kanji (I didn't include the female characters... gomen). There may be a miburo or two in there...

KONOIKE Zen-emon, Mr. Money over in Osaka (who confuses me in the first ep because I thought he liked Serizawa... artistic license?)
Too bad the history doesn't support it because the one thing I'm missin' is Tanihara's Ito!!! I would so love to see his Ito interacting with Toyohara's Serizawa. ^_^
