Face Pa Lang Yan

My Mum is an image consultant. She's gone through several career changes (oh to be gifted is a blessing and a curse), but this is one that I like least.

I said, Mum, I'm pretty sure people would know what's good for them. It's so dictating.
And she said, Not true! Image is a big deal these days. This is a lucrative, interesting and rewarding career!

And then she proceeded to talk about stuff that went whizzing through my brain. I have dropped the topic ever since. (Btw, my Mum was in Ruffa and Ai last month. I was looking forward to see it, but I couldn't get past Melissa Ricks and Matt Evans).

Last night she said, we analysed your face.
And I go, why?
She replied, well anak, figures, 'cause you're jobhunting. Also because you need it. And my boss printed a picture of you from facebook.
Me: Okay, let me hear it.

She said: we both agreed you have a perfect example of a pear shaped face. Fringes are not a good idea.

But I like fringes!

You need to have more body on the top of your head, and the hair should be curving right around your cheekbones blah blah blah...

Also, your glasses are the right shape, so that's fine.

But you need eyeshadow. Heaps of it. To make your eyes light up.

And finally I said, that's a lot! I don't get the hair part anyway! It's too much of a chore!

And she said: Face pa lang yan.
