There's nothing much to say about her really. I didn't put that much thought into her design or personality or anything; she sort of evolved her body shape as I kept drawing her, and that's about the most interesting part of it. She doesn't really have a personality - I guess she's something like a fursona (a term I'm more careful about throwing around these days...) and a muse or something.
If you really want some kind of a personality...uhm. Mostly quiet, but somewhat proud and ambitious. Usually seen pretending to be cool. This generally involves flight displays/fur blowing dramatically in the wind/fire fire fire/all of these at once. Is really a curious child with an easily inflated ego.
re: technically female, I've kind of always drawn her as a genderless thing. I mean, gender/sex isn't something that influences the way I see her. Uhm. I'm not sure how to explain it exactly. "Just an imagined organism" is about right, I think.
The odd thing is, for all the lack of thought I've put into this character, I'm really fond of her. And for all I'm fond of her, I rarely produce any finished stuff of her...
Anyway, some history:
2005:
I had a contest on the Subeta oekaki to design a fursona (specs: dragon/fox/wolf kind of mix) because I couldn't. Riddlecat won with this one. This was a time when I, like everyone else on the oekaki, was totally into the fursonas thing. Yeah.
revamp 1:
Had a thing for long fluffy tails at this time.
revamp 2 (2008):
I guess around this time I found the face mask got into the way quite often, so I scrapped it and made a few other small changes.
revamp 3:
Not many more changes, just for some reason fluffier. I think this is where I put in that poofy bit at the back of her head.
revamp 4 (2009):
Sort of reduced the fluff, although still rather fluffy; head-poofy-fur is more obvious and tail is shorter and less...well, fluffy. I haven't made any major changes up to this point, and don't ever plan to.
revamp 5 (2011):
Nothing particularly special, I guess? I'd been thinking of the wing structure for a while. Got rid of the pads, and the tail pattern which was awkward (why did I even) and some people didn't notice it anyway. Twisty horns now. Tail got extended again...although not as long as it used to be. Other than that...not much.
