I took a much needed vacation break and visited my grandparents this past weekend. Thursday I loaded up Maurizio and we jumped on a plane to OKC. Once on the ground, we drove another hour and a half to Faxon, OK. Yes, way out in the boonies, sticks, podunk-area, what have you. It was gorgeous weather the first two days and Maurizio had a blast running out in the fields behind the house and playing with his favorite toys (rocks, sticks and dirt). The grandparents absolutely loved hanging out with him. They were also impressed that he ate broccoli and asparagus willingly!
Saturday I loaded him up in the car and we drove to Dallas. I finally got to meet princess Nyrie and hang out with Nina and Shane. We had a lovely time hanging out with her family and friends. I totally wish I had Rock Band now. LOL. Sunday morning Maurizio had some more quality time to hang out with Nyrie and play. Then we met up with The Walsh Clan and I finally got to meet Eilene and prince Liam. Luckily the universe did not implode from all the baby cuteness in the room! My favorite part of breakfast was when Liam and Maurizio started shaking their heads back and forth at the same time. Man what a bunch of clowns! ;)
After brunch, I drove back to Faxon and called up my dad to pop on over for a visit. He brought over our Christmas presents from last year's failed Christmas visit. Thank goodness I didn't get those presents last year because my suitcase was about to explode.
Monday morning came too soon and I had to load up the car and get back on the road up to OKC to fly out. My dad followed Maurizio and I up there and we had lunch before my flight. Got some last hugs in and then we were off to the plane.
Maurizio was such a good little traveller this weekend. I took him to so many places and he didn't fuss a single bit. I was nervous about making the trip to Dallas, but I was glad I did it! You can't buy that kind of quality time. :)
