Maurizio will be turning 18 months at the end of September. He has all his teeth besides his second molars, which I believe come in around the 2 year mark. He loves running, climbing up and down the stairs without our help, playing on playground slides and getting into anything dealing with water. He does not have a favorite toy, but at this age almost anything can be turned into a toy. In fact he took the liberty of climbing up onto the coffee table this week and was so proud of himself that he kept doing it over and over. Hopefully we can nip that one in the bud!
He's very close to 30 lbs by now (28 last we checked) and is almost 32 inches tall. :)
Last week, I was feeding him a late night snack and I said to him, "All gone!" when I ran out of food. He immediately repeated, "All gone!" like a parrot. Merrick and I turned to each other and laughed hysterically. "Whoa, did he just say what I said?" Of course Maurizio loved the reaction this had and continued to say it for the next minute. He has since kept repeating this two word phrase, sometimes morphing it into, "All good!", "All goo" and "All gah". He definitely understands what it means and will say it right before he finishes whatever he is eating. He points to cats in books and says "Mow" and points to ducks and says a bizarre combination of duck and quack. His ukrainian grandma says he also understands quite a few Russian words and phrases. He reads a Ukrainian book for children over at her house and can point to several of the animals in it when prompted. She is very proud of him. :)
He is becoming more playful and humorous each day. He loves wrestling with us when we're in the living room, and heartily laughs when we pretend to chase him or try and chomp on his fingers. He looks at us more intently each day and I know he's just going to burst out into conversation soon.
I love that boy!
