Ohboy, already I'm falling behind. I'll be back up to speed by next Monday, I swear.
Week 4: Do you have a "muse" character, who speaks to you more than others, or who tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn't about them? Who are they, and why did that character became your muse?
Not really. When I write, it’s for whatever shiny has my attention. And that seems to rotate around with no discernible pattern. Which is decidedly frustrating because I could never really stick with one fandom. I bounced around a lot and I think that hurt me in terms of focus.
Still does because I’m not any different now than I was when I was active in fandoms. :D
Now that I’ve said no, I’m going to turn around and say sometimes. Still with the caveat that while it seems to rotate around along with my fickle attention span, if one fandom stands out, I usually also have one character that gets my focus.
And as I’ve lamented before, the character is usually not one of the fandom darlings but one of the minor characters.
Case in point, Gansta. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all over Nicolas like a bad habit, man, but the character that grabs my attention the most? The one who tickles at me at night?
Delico (and to drive the point further home, paired Daniel Monroe and not Yang like fandom seems to like). Of course, we hardly know anything about him and with the anime ending on a cliffhanger (holyshitcakeswhat?), when I think of the anime, I think of him. [sighs]
