This is the 3rd album of [In]Toxin (Denis Karpov). Since I’ve discovered this Russian project I instantly became an addict. Thanks to a few and more famous sampler contributions and a few noticeable remixes this project is progressively gaining a little bit recognition. But those who know [In]Toxin will acknowledge that this is a great project.
The new opus brings more electronic intelligence and complexity. It still sounds very trance-minded, but mixed with electronic layers we might link it to famous bands like clock DVA, Haujobb and FLA. These bands are potential sources of influences, which next have been reworked and manipulated into a progressive underground rave sound. [In]Toxin stands for a new dimension in IDM, which here is fully accomplished with tracks as “Futurist”, “Pioneers Of The High Frontier”, “Dead Space”, Xeno-Biological Marvel”, “I Want To Believe”, “Weyland-Yutani” and “Mind Over Matter”. Adding technoid elements and even a dubby touch (cf. “Weyland-Yutani”” nothing seems impossible for this project.
The strength of [In]Toxin is not only about a mixture of great influences, but still the secret of a genius production. It all appears in the little details and other studio tricks and effects. [In]Toxin sounds like being touched by the hand of Apollo (the God of music) and I really hope (each album again) that this project will get a well deserved recognition!
