tarot is an odd entity on this earth...

okay... so I've done tarot reading for a while. Never seriously enough to be able to do it without a book, but just enough to really understand how much the message can vary. Each card has a fairly specific meaning and the chances of drawing something that pertains to your question isn't exactly unlikely, but is still less than 50% or so. To get cards that exactly explain your situation is extremely unlikely, probability wise that is. In practice, you get cards that pertain to your question in almost every reading. Sometimes they don't make sense, but I've found that this happens only when your question is unclear or you don't really understand it's full meaning before asking.

Now... I should point out that I don't believe tarot is magic. I don't believe it can predict the future, or anything like that. I've always seen it as a kind of sounding board to bounce your ideas off of. It helps you get into an objective position. I just find it interesting that when you are clear in what you are asking, how easy the reading really goes. You sit down, pull some cards, and then the meaning just falls out of the book at you. It becomes amazingly clear what the meaning is. Of course it's all up to chance, but isn't it funny how chance can surprise you with a 1/2,107,251 chance coming up with an exactly accurate portrayal of the present and past and then coming up with the most likely "future" or rather approaching outcome.

It's just weird. The likelihood is that I'm adding my own interpretation to it all, but then again, the book would disagree. :P

Well, it's still a fun game, and I never let them color my judgment or choices, so I'm totally good.

Well time for Crane Chorus
