Castiel felt an unfamiliar telepathic thought brush against his mind, a first in a long time. He was cut off from angel radio for so long, he had forgotten what it was like to have a constant presence in his mind.

Seeking out the source, he appeared behind the man in a soft flutter of wings, looking down at him curiously.

"Were you the one who touched my mind?"

He's so focused on how to get down the stairs that he doesn't realize there is someone behind him until they speak. Startled, Charles looks back, trying to stifle the jolt of shock that had run through him.

"Ah," Wings? Charles will gawk for a moment before realizing he'd been asked a question, "I'm sorry I... just woke up, arrived... I'm trying to get my barrings." He sounds a bit confused if not lost at everything going on right now. Was this man a mutant as well?

"I apologize for the intrusion at any rate." And he'll turn his chair a little, so he can look at the other man a bit easier. Craning his head back to look at him was starting to hurt his neck.

"... do you know what is going on here exactly?"

"No one knows," Castiel replied, ignoring the shocked look on the other's face. "We are being kept here because our world is destroyed, but I don't believe that it's true."

The angel continued staring curiously at him, head tilted slightly as he repeated his question. "Were you the one who touched my mind?"

And he'll just take in that bit of information, which confirms the letter while denying it's truthfulness at the same time.

"Would it be in poor taste if I did?" Touch his mind that is.

the stairs, they keep happening handpuppeeet September 5 2011, 16:57:02 UTC
If it wasn't for the fact that there was ice cream all the way on the first floor of the cafeteria, Ankh would be getting sick of having to climb up all these stairs. It was still annoying, but he was somewhat placated at least with a popsicle in between two fingers and a popsicle stick between two more. Seems he'd already gone through one on his way up.

When he attempted to return to his room, he was stopped at the stairs by a roadblock in the form of some human in a wheelchair staring at the steps. What. "Hey. What are you doing?"

motherlicking stairs, the lot of them groovy_mutation September 5 2011, 17:33:15 UTC
He'll blink at the voice, having gone off into a bit of a staring contest with the stairs and ignored everything around him.

"I would think that quite obvious." He may sound a little snippy, but sighs soon after. He shouldn't take out his frustrations on this man, it wasn't fair to say the least. Regardless of his situation and everything.

"Trying to figure out how to get down the stairs."

they just have no manners, getting in everyone's way handpuppeeet September 5 2011, 17:46:55 UTC
Ankh cocked an eyebrow at him. Was it that hard to go down some stairs? There didn't seem to be anything wrong with the guy. Some humans really were pretty dumb.

"Just get up. Or roll down, if you're so attached to that chair," he replied with an equal amount of snipiness, slightly rolling his eyes as he took a bite off the top of the popsicle.

He had to wonder if this man was really that insensitive or just that stupid. He was starting to settle on a bit of both. He'll frown tightly.

"I cannot walk, hence why I need the chair." And did he really just suggest rolling down the stairs. That would work so so well. Except not.

"And trying to go down them like this would prove most unwise."

[Rose was extremely startled when she felt a brush across her mind. As far as she knew, only the trolls had any mind reading abilities, and they couldn't look into her mind.
So, her back immediately goes rigid and shes off to search for the source, none too happy at the prospect of someone looking into her mind.

And stumbles upon a man in a wheelchair stuck on the stairs. Welp. That wasn't too unusual.]

Do you require assistance?

[A woman's voice catches his attention and he'll glance back. Assistance would be fabulous. Oh why oh why were there no ramps?]

... if at all possible, please?

[He hated to ask, or to need the help, really. But he knew there was no way he was getting down those stairs on his own, without taking a tumble.]

And would you have any idea what is going on here? I'm afraid that nothing is quite making any real sense at the moment.

What floor shall I take you to?

[With a flick of her wand Charles is levitating slightly off of the ground, and Rose is poised to assist him down.]

Of course. We have been taken.

[He'll gasp and grip tightly at the arms of his chair, not expecting that in the least. Alright, relax, Charles. She can just use um... magic?]

What should I expect on these other floors, exactly?

And taken? The note seemed to allude to being saved, not taken.

[Fear not, citizen. Stephanie Brown is coming to your rescue!]

Need a hand?

[He'll nod, looking back. Friendly people were a nice surprise to everything that had been dumped on him.]

A couple hands might work better actually.

[He'll look back, a beautiful blonde woman standing behind him. Beautiful or not he appreciated the offer to help.]

I've not had ample time to look around yet, are there no other ways down besides stairs?

I've only got two to offer, but I like to think I'm pretty good with them.

[Stephanie smiles at the man looking back at her. She's pretty sure what she said sounded lame, but whatever. Helping this guy out comes before thinking up charming witticisms, anyway.]

I don't think so, but it'd definitely be worth double checking.

I have no doubt, my dear.

[He'll smile a little, as well, he had to smile at something. It was still taking a while for the gravity of what he'd been told when waking up to really settle with him.]

I'll certainly be doing so, I would not wish to inconvenience someone every time I wish to get down the stairs. [More he didn't want to have to ask every time.]

Would I be prying if I asked how long you've been here? Or what is going on?

[Dave doesn't even notice his mind being brushed against. Upon brushing all Xavier would see would be a split second of this.]

[He'll flinch at the imagine that flashes in the other's mind, quick to pull out of it. Whatever that had been it wasn't going to help him figure anything out. But it had been terrifying.]

No more prying, chap.

[He'll tell himself and try to shake that off.]
