Ven didn't know about churches. Honestly, he didn't know about angels and God and all those things. He knew that the architecture seemed like something his old teacher might like, but that was about it. He could recognize that it was some special place, though he couldn't fathom why.
And when he made it to the thirteenth floor, he also had no idea why some women was sitting there, saying something in some language he also did not understand. Curiosity killed the cat, because now Ven was lurking down the middle of the pews, looking at the woman with interest before speaking up. "Um-- what are you doing?"
Spain was just finishing her last Amén when she hears a soft voice, turning to find a young blond addressing her. Offering her softest smile, she pats the empty seat beside her.
"I was praying, chico," she explained, keeping the cross back around her neck. "It's something I do when I'm alone, or in church."
"It's a form of address to God, a little like a request or a confession," she explained slowly, amused at the boy's curiosity. Ah, to be young and inquisitive again.
"Sí, this is a church. Or what a church would look like on the inside."
"Who's God?" Whoah there Ven, I think you're getting a bit heavy on the questions here. Not that he knew that. To him it was a pretty harmless question, as if asking about some random celebrity or someone's siblings.
"Ooh, a church!" He seemed pretty proud of himself for having figured out what that was. "It's nice! I've never seen one before now."
"God is the Creator of the universe and everyone in it," she continued to explain, feeling a little less stressed with each word she said. "He is the one who gave us life, and we should be thankful towards Him."
Spain smiled, petting him on the shoulder. "Then this should be your first visit to one, sí?"
"Creator of the universe?!" There was a great deal of astonishment in his voice and on his face. He had never heard of this guy before, but he sounded pretty impressive. "Wow...."
Ven smiled at the shoulder pet and nodded. "Yep!...well, I did come to this floor before, but I didn't know what it was when I did."
"Sí." The woman laughed softly, the tone of her voice light. "He is great, isn't He?"
Admiring the architecture for the first time since she stepped into the cathedral level, she laughed again and shook her head. "Querida, it seems that you still have plenty to learn, and that's good, no?"
"But how did one person make the whole universe? Did he use magic?" How else could you do it by yourself? Is interest just kept growing with each question.
"Yeah, I guess so," Ven answered, laughing sheepishly himself. "My Master never took me many places like this before, and I didn't find any books on it." Most of their field trips consisted of going to a barren wasteland. yay~
Spain continued to laugh, amused at the boy's questions. "He works in his mysterious ways, querido, and it would be best not to question how He does his work."
"Aw, but I want to know..!" Ven complained a bit with a frown, way too many more questions flying through his head.
Instead, he gave up on his questions for now, and put another smile on, realizing he hadn't even introduced himself. "Oh! My name's Ventus, by the way. But everyone calls me Ven."
"Aaaw.." Cue a bit more disappointment. New mission: figure out how his God guys does his stuff.
He gave a small laugh, half-heartedly attempting to push her hand away. "C'mon, I'm not some kid...!" Although it was pretty obvious he likes that kind of attention. "Nice to meet you too, Spain!"

"Vento...?" That was an interesting way to say it. "Oh, what was that stuff you were saying earlier?" He sure hadn't heard of words like that before.
