Ы-ы-ы-ы-ы-ы!!!

This is why I think the Karofsky storyline was a mistake. It’s completely different in tone from the rest of the series. Sue’s bullying is straight out played for laughs. We don’t know those people she hurt, we never see them again, it’s Glee black humor. The audience isn’t supposed to take it seriously.

Santana’s verbal bullying gets some people upset and a few sadfaces. People disliked her, but no one ever feared her. The conflict with Rachel was never about Rachel being scared of her - just hurt or jealous. This is why I consider Santana’s storyline “Karofksy done right.” She’s a bitch, but she has never crossed the moral event horizon.

Karofsky’s actions, unlike Sue’s or Santana’s, were given very serious consequences. Kurt was convinced that Karofsky would kill him. Chris Colfer was shipped off to another set for a third of the season. There is no way around that. It’s not one of Rachel’s teary eyed speaches before everything’s cleared at the end of the episode. If you compare their actions on paper, sure they seem a lot more similar. On the show? Worlds apart. Just look at how the scenes are shot and how the victims react. Chris and Max played their scenes in “Furt” like an episode of SVU, not at all Santana’s mean girl drama or Sue’s black comedy. I treat Karofsky’s actions differently because they were portrayed differently. ©
