Hmm, I haven't updated this in a while with a real post. Over a month I think, oh well.

Things have happened, they still are. My Grandfather is quite sick, is very weak, and probably will not be with us in this world much longer. However, he is at peace with himself. He has led a good, long life which he is proud of. Also, he is not in pain, which all of us are grateful for. Without going into too much detail, he has colon cancer, it has metastasized, he has lots of fluid in his abdomen in very small pockets, so it can't be removed. My prayers and wishes go out to him. Not necessarily that he should live for some significant amount of time past this (that is somewhat selfish), but that the rest of his life is in peace, that he feels the love that my family and I give toward him.

In other somewhat morbid news, Kari and I went to see The Phantom of the Opera last night. Ok, so that isn't exactly a morbid thing to do, but the play is somewhat morbid. A couple of murders, a grotesque face, good singing (the most morbid thing of them all!). I had a pretty good time, Kari seemd to enjoy herself as well, even if she didn't particularly care for some of the shrill singing parts. However, we did have nosebleed seats. 3rd row from the top of the balcony. Of course we also only paid the student price for them, we got closer seats for the second act because there were plenty empty. It was quite interesting though, at the beginning of the play the top 4 rows were full, and the next 8 rows or so were empty. You could tell which seats were the student discount seats.

Also this Sunday Kari and I will possibly be playing in a role playing game called "Tomb of Horrors" for which we are allowed to make a character that comes from any of the D20 systems. This includes Big Eyes Small Mouth, D&D 3.x, Star Wars and a few others. Because we are also allowed to mix and match worlds, and we have to be between level 10 and 14 equvilents, I am going to be... a half-dragon wookie jedi! I get a breath attack that doesn't even use the force! However, this scenario is apparently known for its instakills so having a few characters is kind of useful. As such I also have a pixie Sorceror. I think I might make another character as well, but I'm not sure what yet. I considered a half-orc monk by the name of "Breaking Wind", but I think I may have stolen that idea from somebody else. Not sure who... ¬.¬ Also, it depends on whether or not Kari wants to go, because she konws these people a whole lot better than I do.

I am doing well in classes, and research is doing pretty well too. Kari and I have just about decided on where we will hold our wedding reception, though it isn't finalized yet. Also, Kari and I have combined finances so that should make some things a bit easier (like finances).

I hope everything is doing dandy with you and yours.
