Once again, I love Shige's writing.

He picks topics to write that can be controversial and are very thought provoking. For this one in particular, he analyzes death in much the same way I do. My teacher was always telling us "Someday you'll know the meaning of life", but really. There isn't one, because if there was one to be found, then many would have no reason to continue living. I suppose then the meaning of life is to live it.

He seems so optimistic and living his life to his fullest. Shige, you are making a mark. Even if it's just for fans, you are definitely making on.

Well, also to add to this, there can't be a meaning of life. I mean, think about it. Having a meaning of life means we came into life willingly. But, actually its completely coincidental that we did. Our parents made us. We didn't choose this life. We live our life to the fullest because that is the only thing we are in control of. We don't choose when we are born, and for some us anyway, we don't choose when we die. But we can choose what we do (when we have the power of choosing) in between and that makes all the difference.

but I also disagree with his pov on death but that's just because of things I've experienced in life and my experience of death and yadda yadda

But I would love to debate with him on this..if only I spoke Japanese.

I really do love Shige's writing.
He's always so deep yet he doesn't have the need to use abstract concepts to make something clear for the reader.
And I find myself once again agreeing with the things he's saying. If one would really find the meaning of existence - if there is one, of course - there he wouldn't be any reasons to live anymore. Human beings are always looking for something, that's why our existence is so miserable and yet so wonderful.
