Happy birthday, stormheller
Today is one of those landmark birthdays ending in zero for my best friend, Stormy. We were trying to figure out how long we've known each other--it's something like seven or eight years--but one thing is for sure: it was one of those rare and magic times when you meet someone you've known your whole life, and maybe in a few dozen former lives, too. We met at the other end of the city and discovered that we lived a ten-minute walk apart. A while afterward she told me about a job opening in her company, and we've shared a work life for the past five years as well.
We bonded over a mutual love for The Sentinel, and our fannish obsessions have mostly run in parallel ever since (although it did take me a while to make her see The Rodney Love). She's seen me through some fairly heavy weather over the years, and I hope I've done the same for her.
She's sexy, funny, talented, caring, compassionate, loyal, generous and committed to her friends. I'm telling you, I really got lucky when I met Stormy.
