In Which I Drink Tea

Dec 03, 2008 22:57

So I haven't posted a real update in a long while, and Jess (who needs to post too!) yelled at encouraged me the last time we spoke, so here's a random spewing of stuff while I wait for my tea to cool enough to drink.

So on the subject of the tea, I may be getting sick. Again. For my 3rd cold of the season. The 1st, at the end of Oct., was pretty bad. The 2nd, about 2 weeks ago, didn't get too serious but hung on a while. Now my throat hurts again. Hence the tea.

Since Aug., I've been meaning to post about what Noah and I did for our anniversary/ies! We celebrated the date on both the secular and Jewish calendars. First came our secular anniversary, on a weeknight. We got dressed up and went out to the nicest restaurant in town. And by dressed up, I mean Noah wore his tux and I wore a gown. And the restaurant, while nice, wasn't quite that nice. So when we got in, the maitre d' was giving us a funny look while we gave our names and such (we had a reservation). Before showing us to our table, he finally asked "So are you coming from a wedding...?" When we explained that it was our anniversary, he congratulated us. He must have told the waiter, b/c he too congratulated us when he came to the table. We had a very nice dinner, then we ordered dessert, which arrived w/ a candle in it! It was fun, and cute, and sweet, etc. Unfortunately, that restaurant has since closed, so we may not be able to do it again next year b/c no other restaurant in town is even close to that nice.

Then, 2 weeks later, we celebrated our Jewish anniversary w/ a nice night in. I finally remembered to rescue our leftover wedding cake from my parents' freezer, so we had wedding cake and watched "Chocolat", a nice romantic movie.

In other news, I'm finally starting to get results at work. Some days (weeks) I find it hard to get myself motivated and get much done, but then other weeks I'm tripping over myself doing so many things, so it may even out. It is def. much nicer this year not to have classes and T.A.ing sucking up my time. Unfortunately, now that I have so much more free time in my life, Noah is much busier this semester. So I spend a lot of time either by myself while he's at class or by myself while he's at his computer doing work, as now. I get lonely. : (

Ok, tea's gone, so if I'm getting sick I should probably get more sleep...

Till next time.
