what's blooming this week . . .

I've been working out in the yard every day and coming in tired and sore - I was entirely too inactive this winter *grin*. So I've not been on-line much or done much art either, although I've made some progess toward finishing my serpentinelion Fest pictures. (Thank goodness for deadline extensions!) :D

Ken and I made this nifty thingy out of PVC pipes so I could start seeds in the house this year. Starting the seeds under these full-spectrum lights is working even better than I expected. Some of them are almost ready to go outside! :D

A lot of things are popping up in the garden now and more trees were blooming. Here's a few pictures of what was blooming this past week:

Crab apple tree. The blooms start out dark pink . . .

and then turn white:

Ornamental peach:

The day after I took the pictures of the apple and peach blossoms, it rained and knocked all the petals down. :( My yard was literally covered with soggy petals the next day. :P

Lilac buds:

Lilac blossom a few days later:

And omg - these smell like heaven! :DDD

Late daffodils:

The first rose!

We have a big project going on in the back yard right now, and I'm taking pictures as we go - so more on that later. :)
