Walking my dog

Jul 26, 2014 00:13

While walking with my dog Ginger today, I witnessed some odd behavior from a man whom I believe is a sort of "groundskeeper" of the nearby Durand Eastman School. As I was walking toward the school, I saw this man dawdling around that side of the building. First he picked up a big sail-like sign (announcing summertime school lunches for kids), waved it around a bit, and then took it inside the school. Then he opened the door, put his hand on the top of the door frame, and looked straight back at me for several l-o-o-o-n-g seconds. Then he went inside and sort of slammed the door behind him to the best of his ability. It was one of those pneumatic-type doors that don't really slam. I guess he was expressing anger towards me. I'm guessing that I was supposed to follow him...? But why? I don't know him and he doesn't know me. Why should I do what a silent stranger seems to want me to do? Did he believe that I could read his mind? I would certainly never follow a strange man anywhere.
