A couple weeks ago I took some seeds that were on our white lilac bush and planted them in two flower pots. One of them has sprouted, isn't that cool? I'm already thinking about what I'd like to plant outdoors when warmer weather arrives.
I'm reading Stephen King's 11/22/63, and enjoying it. I don't usually read King stories because I'm not into the horror fiction that he specializes in, but this one resonates with me, maybe because I lived during that time. I remember being in my sixth grade classroom when an announcement came over the loudspeaker, saying that President Kennedy had been shot. About twenty minutes later another announcement was made that he had died. It was such a weird and shocking thing -- something that couldn't possibly happen.
We had snow over the weekend, but tomorrow will be in the upper forties. They're laying off workers at a local rock salt factory because there's been such a low demand for salt due to record low amounts of snow this December.
