christmas eve in new york

Dec 24, 2010 10:46

real new yorkers have made a decision to stay home today but i came into work.  subways are almost empty, and the trains themselves are on a holiday schedule.  i got a seat even though it was rush hour.  i ate an orange and nobody was there to get sprayed by the juice. i think the skyscraper i'm in has me in it only. i'm used to being surrounded by people. where is everybody. HELLO!  ANYBODY?  i should take a picture and post it right here so you could see new york when it's deserted. this icon i'm using today is good cheer.  It's called  "Сказочная зима"  which is russian meaning something.  the radio stations i listen to are trying to get in all the unusual christmas songs and jazz beats before the holiday is over.  real new yorkers on christmas eve stroll to the Big Tree at Rockefeller Center and join the spontaneous choir singing christmas carols, using sheet lyrics compiled by volunteers.  ~ happy christmas ~
