From one project to the next...
Well, for my translating, I've decided to stop on Gaia, I'd been doing it more for my own little pet-project than anything(as well as I was helping a friend with _her_ pet-project too). But via the latest finalauraburst posting, I found out that the same group was going ahead with Gaia after they'd done that first ep. I am impressed though that I got as much correct as I did with my listening skills as well as poring through the few various dictionaries I have(and poking through the nets) when I watched their ep 2... ^_^;;;
I had offered my skills, such as they are, to the group, and to my surprise I was offered a chance to translate a few series(which one I've seen some of and would like to do, not gonna say which though just yet). I think I might translate one on my own, to try my hand at it too, and I've chosen to do Kaette-Kite Ultraman (aka Jack). Not sure if it might get picked up too, but as I've mentioned, he's one of my fav Showa-Ultras and I do like the MAT crew that takes in Gou.
Though if anyone wants to see my script for ep 2 of Gaia... *shrugs*

Politician: [it was created with the utmost secrecy so it wouldn’t cause panic] This--
Tabata: It seems like everything is all confused now anyway… [Everyone’s in a panic now anyway]
Tabata: This person, where have I seen him before?

Daniel: We’ve analyzed the data from the red giant, but can’t come up with an explanation. [We don’t have any data on the red giant either]
Ishimoro: But based on that, is he an enemy or an ally?
Daniel: I don’t think he’s an enemy.

Daniel: We don’t let the computer do our thinking for us. (Rather, we prefer not to think of him as a weapon but an ally.) -? [My instinct is that he was doing more than just tracking the space-beast]

Chiba: So we’ll have different types of monsters. [Just what might it have intending to do?]
Ishimoro: Right now it appears earth is in its worst crisis. [To perhaps awaken other monsters to cause even more havoc]
Chiba: That can’t be...
Georgie: Team Lightning, launch!
Ishimoro: Go ahead.
Kajio: Team Lightning, Shoot!

Gamu: Probably not. It appears to share some of the earth’s animals’ characteristics. [the creature’s elemental composition seems suited for the earth’s gravity and atmosphere] There’s still a lot about the earth that we humans don’t understand and perhaps this monster is one mystery, I think. [It’s perhaps a sub-massive creature we’ve not encountered before which is now coming to the surface]
Tsutsumi: What does that mean then? [why is it coming back then?]
Kajio: Target is in sight. Run the Deep Strike technique... Here!
Kitada: Fighter-2, roger.
Ogawara: Fighter-3, roger. I hope I fly better this time… [time to take back our honor]
Kajio: Target has paused its advance. [We’ve injured its back.]

Tsutsumi: I deeply apologize, he must have slipped out and stowed-away with Team Hercules when they were deployed.
