now that the trip is done, back to RL...
Got back to Wis yesterday after running about Port Huron over the weekend and the tourist trap that is Frankenmuth Monday and Tuesday morning. Met up with the parentals on Friday after my class was done(YAY am now HAZWOPER-certified~!), and we went driving around lower MI. PH was pretty fun, though I have to say the only thing going for it is that it's by Lake Huron and it's a border-crossing. Took pics of the lighthouse, the river and Canada(though it looked like not much was different from the US side aside from the Canadian flag flying on the other side of the river).
Then Frankenmuth was all right, it has a Bavarian-German look to the place and stores of all kinds along their Main St. The place also has Brunners which is a Christmas store for those who like decorations of all sorts(like my dad). aliaswestgate and I were mostly comparing horror stories of past holiday retail seasons, including the music that we hear incessantly(I'm just glad I have my ipod and a few of the local radio stations don't play that kind of music).
Now back to regular life here in Wis, though I'm hoping I can find something I can use my new certification towards. I'll also have to find a local place where I can do the certification-refresher next year, since to keep it current you have to do at least 8 hrs of refresher training. Might be fun to go back to K-Zoo for it, but just for a day wouldn't be worth it financially(unless I make a trip out of it again, but have to see).
Back to work this afternoon, though I've been doing chores much of today including laundry and cleaning out the cat box. Now that I'm done with the class-prep and driving, and have the rest of summer break free, I want to read books I've borrowed/bought, as well as DVDs and whatnot.
