i think my cat is sick
Okay...so Dusty's been coughing the past 2 days....and I thought it was getting better but her cough was kind of worse (as in she's been doing it more often) yesterday and this morning...you can hear her breathing out of her nose.
I really don't want to take her to the vet.....as I don't have the money....but are there home remedies I can try first?
She's fine....she has no runny nose...no blood, pus or mucus coming out.....no runny eyes....she eats better than Pharaoh...and she tries to play but stops because she starts coughing. So...she ends up sleeping alot. And she doesn't seem to have a fever, either.
I was wondering if it's because she's short-snouted....she has a flatter face than Pharaoh...but not enough to make her breathe like that.....and I know it's not an upper respiratory infection because her eyes aren't red and weepy.
I read that Robitussin DM is safe for cats...and I'm thinking that might help her a bit.....it sounds like she's got alot of phlegm in her throat. She has no problem drinking or eating, so I ruled out any throat-related cancers. But...I don't know.
And she's not throwing up and she doesn't have diarrhea. She's expelling quite normally. So...I have no clue...other than maybe she has a bad cold.
Any suggestions?
