A friend of the family messaged me on Facebook to tell me that he spoke with someone who is about to open up an 'art cafe' next month, and who intends on featuring different artists on different months. I messaged this person and he just called back! He sounded impressed by what I told him about White Bird and I followed up with scans of my work + the website. He said that he's not expecting artists to pay hanging fees or commissions, but donations are welcome. I told him that I'd be happy with that + I'm willing to do a free photo shoot of his cafe (for fun, and because I want photos of my work up on his walls :P) which he can then use for promotional purposes. Of course, if my work is going up at that cafe, I'm gonna pimp it like crazy so we both win :D
He was very happy with that idea :D
Oh boy, things are picking up~! I sold one of the waterpaint owls on Sunday, and I have one week to whip out three more for a three windowed frame...
Oh!! Great news! We ended up sending some of our work to get it printed as Giclee/archival quality prints using the best inks and the best paper money can buy, and we got them today! They're gorgeous, and look exactly like the originals. We had them printed on Innonva paper (Natural white finish with a coarse structured surface equivalent to a traditional watercolour paper. 100% alpha cellulose, 315 gsm.Archival museum grade, OBA-free), and I couldn't be happier with the quality :)
If anyone is interested, we got them done at
Code Ice - Fine Art Digital Printmakers, and it took them a mere three days to print and ship them to me :)
Lalalaaaa~!
There's a chance that White Bird may become something big! All we need is exposure exposure exposure!
