Hillary Clinton finally backed down today.
Her speech this morning was inspirational and it must have been so hard to give.
I really respect her for her determination, but unfortunately I think that she wanted to win the nomination so badly that she made some really bad choices and mistakes. And although she gave a phenomenal endorsement to Barack Obama today, I wonder if it's not allready too late to unify the Democrats.
There has been an astounding lack of political talk among my circles. I can't help but think my generation has taken for granted the historical importance of this years elections. And if we're not taking it for granted, have we gotten that apathetic? Or maybe we're too self absorbed.
Whatever the reason, that reason is going to contribute to McCain's victory in November.
I hope I'm wrong.
From Clinton's speech:
"Children today will grow up taking for granted that an African-American or a woman can, yes, become the president of the United States."
