I really enjoyed this. There's such an intensity and sense of rushing, rushing, and then the relief of the resolution.

i'm curious... what does it mean to you? i'm very interested in individual interpretation but most people are too shy to say what they think of a poem because they think they won't get it 'right'

It seems to me like an impossible relationship - someone having sex, but knowing they've got to leave immediately afterwards, stumbling down the stairs of the apartment building of a lover and trying to forget how futile the whole scenario is. Perhaps even falling to their death at the foot of the stairs.

That's very interesting. I like that very much. I definitely intended the impossible relationship part and the sex part. I'm so happy to have another interpretation : D
