Recent comments by students seem to indicate a problem with the journals. If you can read this, consider it confirmation that private posts are no longer private. It's unconfirmed yet if this applies to comments as well, but indication and logic would suggest it does. If you have anything you wish to write in your journal that you do not intend to be seen by the general population of the school, please refrain from posting it until after the problem can be fixed.
Hopefully it will be resolved soon. The inability to express private thoughts is highly inconvenient. Some things are kept secret for a reason.
