On Japanese Baseball

Japan... remember: Kyoto, Tokyo, Ninja, Geisha, Samurai. Ah, and Manga and Anime.

It's amazing how one of the most important things in Japan gets absolutely overlooked by gaijin: Baseball!

Since Abe (Yomiuri Giants' starting catcher) got pulled out of the game yesterday and has been on the bench today *cries* I desperately tried to find some information about that. They spoke about it in the commentary of the game but I just couldn't understand a thing! But, alas we have the world wide web and surely there will be something!

My results:
1 livejournal community (dead since 2006)
9 livejournals which list "japanese baseball" as interest - x only interested in oofuri
2 Japanese newspaper with an English sports section (they reported about the game, but he was not even mentioned)
3 websites dedicated to Japanese baseball (1 focussing on some decades ago, 1 only citing the newspapers, 1 with a forum and several blogs attached)
x dead blogs of English-speaking Japanese baseball fans

1 American(?) Hanshin Tigers fan blog, which is actually elaborately updated. Since it happened against the Tigers I cross my fingers that there will be an entry today or tomorrow.

fangirl, baseball
