[personality] Elizabeth, having spent her life inside the Velvet Room, is very naive to the outside world. The knowledge that she has of it comes only from those who enter the room. However, the taste of knowledge that she does have makes her very, very curious as to how everything works. When Minato takes her on their dates, she feels that she must experience absolutely everything that she can. This is often taken to extremes, as she’s not hindered the same way humans are (able to dump a million yen into a fountain without blinking, for example, or eating seemingly endlessly). And her mannerisms are very strange. Her speech is stilted, formal, and frankly filled with purple prose about every little thing around her.

She’s like an open book filled with blank pages, though, just waiting to be written on. Whatever gets scribbled in her pages she learns easily and takes to heart immediately. She’s quite literal, and takes everything at face value, even believing the woman at the takoyaki stand when she says that the food is so good your cheeks will fall off. It doesn’t happen (Elizabeth is quite thankful for that, really), but she kept anticipating that it would, just because someone had said it would happen.

Naive though she may be, Elizabeth is also very introspective. She spends her time on the dates wondering who she is, and why it is that whenever she’s with Minato, she feels fulfilled. She’s very existential that way. And she’s eager to learn, too. If there’s anything she doesn’t understand, she doesn’t hesitate to ask for the answer. Of course, if she thinks she already knows, she’ll plow ahead and do what she thinks is right, like going down the up escalator because it’s a test of one’s endurance. Everything around her is amazing somehow; through her, it’s like seeing the world through new eyes.

Through the first and second dates, Elizabeth doesn’t change at all. Her eyes remain open to the world around her, and she continues to describe everything in off the wall detail. It’s during the third date, though, that she starts to wonder about why, exactly, she continues to make requests that involve Minato taking her out. She thinks that, maybe, it is simply because she is out with Minato that she enjoys their dates so much. Already he is starting to become an important person to her.

It’s during the fourth date that she realizes that whenever she is near him, whenever she touches him, she feels fulfilled. Minato is able to fill some sort of longing in Elizabeth and, perhaps, help her gain a bit of humanity. During the last date in Minato’s room, Elizabeth becomes something of a blushing virgin, really, though some of her usual boldness remains. She tells him that, basically, she wishes to be intimate with him, for him to guide her through what it means to call on a boy in his own room.

Elizabeth’s final request for Minato (in the second play through) is for him to fight her. She hopes, with this fight, that she is able to find a meaning for her existence, and she believes that Minato is the person who can give her this answer. She realizes after the fight, however, that she is the only person who is able to determine who she is. Without fighting Minato, she probably would have continued to wonder.

So through the dates and her interactions with Minato, Elizabeth develops from being this naive, slightly strange girl with a thirst for knowledge of the world around her, to an introverted girl who wishes to discover more about herself. Minato remains a very important person to Elizabeth, however. Though we don’t know this through Persona 3, we learn in Persona 4 through Margaret that Elizabeth actually left the Velvet Room in order to try to find a way to bring Minato back. He means enough to her that she is willing to leave the Velvet Room, something that its residents are really allowed to do, in order to save him.

[orientation] Minatosexual. Not that she necessarily even has sexual feelings for him, but she knows he makes her very happy. Otherwise, asexual (but very curious).

In her last date with Minato, Elizabeth tells him that even she knows what it means to call on a boy in his own room, and asks that he guide her through it. As for being asexual otherwise, it is simply because she has nothing else to go on. Her life consists of waiting in the Velvet Room for those that may wander in, and she is incapable of exploring the world because of her duties. She is, however, very curious about pretty much everything, so there’s no reason to believe she wouldn’t be curious about how sexuality works, too.

SAMPLES
[sample 1#] [ The video feed clicks on, upside down at first, and a girl with a silver bob hair cut is there, staring at the camera with her head tilted to the side. ]

No, I don't believe that's quite right...

[ She reaches out and turns it around the right way, nodding in satisfaction. ]

Ah, much better.

[ She settles back in her seat, arms folded over the tabletop that she's sitting at. ]

Hello. I am Elizabeth. If I am to understand correctly, then this little device here can broadcast what I am saying and doing to all who would view it? Such wonderfully advanced technology found in such an old styled world is quite the interesting dichotomy. I certainly never would have expected to find something like this here. It's a bit like television, isn't it? Except that we each have our very own channel with which to broadcast whatever we desire.

[ Here she pauses for a second, humming thoughtfully. ]

I will have to think on what I wish my program to be about. Perhaps an educational show. Or a news broadcast...

[ She thinks on this for a few moments more before she shakes her head, reaches out, and turns the Fansuwoth off. ]

[sample 2#] Elizabeth finished disrobing, her clothes a mere pile in the floor around her ankles which she stepped out of carefully, making sure not to trip; that wouldn't be very attractive, would it? She knelt over top of the man on the bed, a knee on either side of his lap, and gazed down at him in silence for a moment, wondering. As far as she had ever read, this sort of act was usually reserved for two persons who had managed to find and fall in love with each other. To sell it so easily didn't upset her, it just made her curious; what could have driven this man to pay for this service?

Not that it particularly matters to her. Certainly, there was another she would rather share a bed with, but Elizabeth found that she enjoyed this sort of exploration. There was so much to discover once in this situation, and there was so much more she wanted to discover. There had been an interesting shop she passed once, filled with the most wonderful assortment of objects...

She shook her head, though; now was not the time to think of that. Slowly she lowered herself down onto the man beneath her and a small gasp escaped her body as she was penetrated. That sensation was always wonderful, and maybe it explained why these houses were visited so frequently. Elizabeth planted her hands on the man's chest as she rocked her hips up and down, slowly at first, but with increasing speed as it began to feel better and better.

Yes, this was definitely the reason why.
