Is it because you feel that the path of a scientist has a much more tangible impact to society's march for knowledge?

I'd be lying if I said I've never pondered about that myself.

Sometimes, so do I. (There are rare times that I get to do actual Science! at my job, more at previous ones.) But a lot of the time I don't. I always wanted to be more like Edison, discovering/inventing.

Also, maybe I just need to add funny hats...
