[Two days in a row without snow? Rogue is almost on cloud... well, three. She unwraps herself from her blanket cocoon today and ventures out. If the white white walls on her room don't change soon she's going to need to get them padded. So out she'll venture into the cold to the general store - there's got to be some paint or some posters or

Spirits, hm? I'd say they are simple elemental spirits, Miss. Nothing to be worried about, really.

[voice]

'Simple elemental spirits?' What does that mean?

[voice]

Ah. Meaning each of them is categorized by a different element or attribute of some sort. Fire, Wind, Earth, Water that sort of thing.

[voice]

...an' that's simple. [Clearly not, by her tone.] Stuff like that's normal in your world?

[voice]

[folkloristic]

It's simple once you get the hang of it, like anything really. It just takes a little practice. It is actually, though a vast majority of people in my world don't know such things exist.

[voice]

[touchofrogue]

[She is going to clarify before she is going to snark.]

So you've got - what, hidden people who're 'magic' in your world? An' you're one of 'em.

[Because that never happens, Rogue.]

Ah, well, yes you could say that.

[voice]

And in all the magic that you know about in your world, no one's ever had any problems with these elemental spirits?

[voice]

[folkloristic]

Ah, well, magic in my world is a bit different. You don't have to ask for a spirits cooperation to necessarily use it. It's something you're born with and then taught how to properly control it. [ A pause. ]

There are such things as elementals though. Gnomes for earth, Undines for water, Slyphs for air, and Salamanders for fire.

[voice]

[touchofrogue]

[...it's hard to continue to snark when she has just been completely fascinated. Undines? Salamanders? For a moment her hard-won chip on her shoulder drops like a ton of bricks, and Helios will get a glimpse of the girl underneath.]

An' do you get to talk to them? What do the elementals do, in your world?

[voice]

[ He'll be smiling on his end. It's nice to see someone interested in learning about these things. It's his job back home to teach the world about them. ]

Oh but of course! They keep the world in balance, a real life mother nature I suppose. But you can find Undines in large bodies of water or their respective elements. Salamanders in volcanoes, Gnomes in mountains and Slyphs in open plains. They're very much like the spirits here actually.

And nobody knows they're there?

...how are they like the spirits here?

[voice]

Ah, well, people who believe in them can see them.

Listening and wanting to communicate with them is the best way to see into their world. Communicating is the the only way to bridge the gap between their world and ours. That's how they're similar.

[voice]

[This is starting to make her head hurt a bit.]

An' have you spoken with any of the spirits here?

Oh yes! All of them actually. Hyt did take a bit longer than the others.

[voice]

And how long have you been... bonded with them?

[She doesn't like anything that sounds like a chain, really.]
