[After her somewhat unorthodox introduction to Luceti, Rogue doesn't need a map or directions to get to get around town. What she does need are some clothes that fit. She's got Vash's boots and belt wrapped around her waist twice to keep his pants on - the shirt is just as baggy, but you can't see it over the buttoned up coat of one Nicholas D.

[Kurt is rounding the corner on his way to town when he spots her, Rogue walking from one of the buildings. She hasn't seen him yet and for the moment, he ducks around a corner. Oh man... It all comes back to him at once. The trip to Egypt, finding Mystique in stone, finding out the Professor had given up on restoring her. And then Kurt had found a way to bring her back, his own mother. One chance that maybe he could help her find redemption.

And all it needed was Rogue's touch. But then she was shattered and that was the end of it. How was he supposed to face her after that?]

[onebluebamf]

[He sighs. Of course he knows how to face her. Like an X-Man. So burying his feelings on the matter, he goes back around the building in her direction.]

[touchofrogue]

[Rogue, on the other hand, is fresh on the high of their reconciliation. Kurt's family. In more ways than one. So it's without a trace of guilt and with utter relief that she cries out his name when she sees him.] Kurt!

[She hurries over.] Man, am I glad to see you. This place is crazy. Are you all right?

[onebluebamf]

[It stirs something in him that she's so happy to see him. Anger, mostly. But he knows how this place works... more than likely, she's from before everything happened.]

Yeah, I'm fine. What about you? Did you just get here?

[touchofrogue]

Just this morning. [Something's wrong. Everything in her is aware of it.] Are we the only ones here?

[onebluebamf]

[He shakes his head.] Kitty and Ororo are here too. [But he's going to have to explain everything.] We're stuck in this place called Luceti. [Feel free to cut him off.]

[touchofrogue]

I know. [Pause.] They didn't exactly drop me here fully dressed.

[Fill in the blanks, Kurt.]

[onebluebamf]

[In his defense, some people are left with their clothes next to them.]

Oh... right. [Now what?] We should go find the others, then.

[touchofrogue]

[She gives him a look.]

Why are you acting so weird?

[onebluebamf]

[Busted. Uhh... what does he say?]

It's... complicated, okay? [That doesn't explain much, does it?] We don't all come from the same time.

[touchofrogue]

[...oh, that's right. She speaks slowly, feeling some mounting dread. What if... he came from her future and... what if she'd done something horrible again?] What's the last thing you remember?

[onebluebamf]

[He really, really doesn't want to say. So he settles for something... related.]

Magneto is dead.

[touchofrogue]

Oh. [So he was... from before her. That meant...

He hates you.

[He can tell the message got across clearly enough. He can conclude two things easily enough, however. She's from the future, clearly. But also one where apparently they're on good terms, however that happened. He feels a pang of guilt for being so cold, but it's so hard not to be. She robbed him from the one chance of getting to know his real mother. Finding out why he was like the way he was. Maybe even finding his real father. At least knowing his name. All of which will never happen now.]

We have an apartment. It's not far, but we can always take the shortcut.

[touchofrogue]

[Well, this sucks. She can tell he's just Doing the Right Thing and that the last thing he wants is to be around her.

They'd just - become a family again. This hurt more than the first time, when she didn't know what she was losing.]

I think I'll just explore the village a bit more - get the layout in my own mind. I can find ya'll later.

[Should he let her go or stop her? Well... it's good enough reasoning.]

Building seven, room two. [He almost adds "It'll be a tight squeeze", but he leaves that unsaid. He figures he's already done enough making her feel unwelcome. Not his intent, per se, but hard to avoid.] They'll all be glad to see you.
