The Final Countdown

I've become more content over the past week. I'm looking forward to the Scholars' Bowl regional competition Thursday. It may be my last scholar bowl tournament ever! That reminds me of my favorite scholar bowl memories. The Salina Tournament where Ben W. brought a 64 oz. mug of coffee, the Topeka West Tournmanet where Ben and Joe had a paper football and then Joe kicked it and it hit lady in a neck brace. The next year at Topeka West we brought 7 people and didn't do that well, but had so much fun. The Hayden tournament where Joe made fun of Catholics including a comment about the Inquisition when we saw a red mark on the wall, and he crawled in the lunch serving window, but we wrote it off as acceptable because Joe's Catholic. The tournament at Kansas City Christian where we got first and "That kitty bites" joke was coined. This year after our first tournament, we went to McDonald's and our coach, Mr. McCoy bought us ice cream for getting fourth. On the way to and on the way back from the Emporia tournament myself, Adam, Chris C., and Doug B. sang along to Queen, Styx and other songs from Adam's ipod. Then at one tournament we were getting ready to leave because we hadn't made the semifinals and we were hungry, so everybody says let's grab a pizza and take it for the trip home. Not a piece or two, the whole thing. So, I grab it and we escaped while whistling the mission impossible theme. Anyway, I've had a great time with Scholars' Bowl and it has been one of the most enjoyable activities I've ever been involved in.
