Friends, please post your RNC protest plans here. Courtesy of misterpardonme and myself, here are a couple things of interesting things transpiring on the morrow (sun)

I will be at the United for Peace and Justice march tomorrow morning, 11am. I'm not sure whether I'm marching with friends or with the Q contingent. I'm sure I'll find someone, though.

However, it seems that at the same time, I'll miss this, unfortunately:
Identity Correction Makeovers with The Yes Men- 12pm, Sunday, 8/29, Union Square www.theyesmen.org
The Yes Men wil ltransform you into an official RNC Tour Guide. Republican haircuts, wardrobe, and tour itineraries provided.

Alternatively, I might join other Gays Against Bush! protesters as they march to Bryant Park (on the B, D, and F trains at 42nd) to protest at the Log Cabin Republicans' "Big Tent" event, scheduled from 1pm to 3pm.

The event will be hosted by Mayor Bloomberg. Expected guests include Gov. Pataki, Rudy Guiliani, Gov. Schwarzenegger, ex-Gov. William Weld of Mass., ex-Gov. Jane Swift of Mass. While most people are particularly targeting Mayor Bloomberg for his veto of the Equal Benefits Bill, his veto of the Dignity In All Schools Act, his marching in the St. Patrick's Day parade, and his refusal to publicly support same-sex marriage, I'm mostly interested in protesting the Log Cabin Republicans, because their neoliberal agenda is rather disgusting and assimilationist. After the Bryant Park demo, we will join the huge United for Peace and Justice march.

Perhaps before BSFK poker night, I will venture to Make Out, Not War! at 6pm, 8/29 Bowery Poetry Club 308 Bowery b/w Bleecker and Houston.
Downtown poets Dawn Saylor and Moonshire Shorey want to end the war with smooches. Bring a buddy or make one here...

MONDAY:
If you're not working, I would really appreciate some company at the Still We Rise march. I'll be marching with the ACT UP/NY Contingent. The march starts at Union Square and ends at 33rd and 8th, right where ACT UP/NY and ACT UP/Philly protesters staged a direct action earlier this week and became the first arrests of the convention. Still We Rise is a coalition with a multifaceted agenda which includes advocating for the repeal of the Rockefeller Drug Laws, improved public housing, improved health care for AIDS, prison reform, and sex education. ACT UP and supporters will be meeting in front of the Toys 'R Us on Union Square East at 12 noon.

Holler at your boy. Y'all know my cell is on the fritz but I can check messages remotely; hit up 347-365-4927.
